Just me :) Super mom? or Super mess?

“Dearly Beloved… we are gathered here today to get through this thing called LIFE” -Prince

I think we all know that being a mom is NOT EASY! Jeez, moms are expected to be a super hero and still place a 3 course meal on the table at dinner time! I am a 43 year old mother of 3 and i’m still beating myself up about statements I made, or decisions I made 20 years ago?? What is wrong with this picture?? Well I have had enough of that! I was the best mom I know how to be, and its time to find some peace in my heart and mind.

I want to learn all the steps to finding that peace, and work them with whoever else in the world is feeling the same way. Life is hard, but life is also beautiful. I’m learning that letting go of some “crap” in my life, in my past, and in my mind is more rewarding than you can possibly imagine. So I want to start sharing some of my experiences in life, in hopes that it can help someone else, or make a difference in someone else’s journey as a mother, as a daughter, as a sister, as a friend.

So let me start by introducing myself, I am Holley, a single mother of 3 just trying to survive. I have 3 jobs (counselor, amazon driver, and I own a house cleaning business) and work hard most everyday to provide what my kiddos need. I have my 13 year old son, and my 16 year old daughter (YES LOTS OF HORMONES!) who live with me, and my handsome 22 year old who lives with his dad. I was married for 20 years to a wonderful man who saved me when I needed him. But we decided to separate two and a half years ago due to irreconcilable differences. But we have done a great job of going through this divorce with our kids always being first, and keeping up a good friendship/co-parenting relationship (there will be a future blog on this i’m sure!) I am an addiction counselor, a DUI instructor, and am working on getting my counselor license. But my passion has always been being a mother. I have experienced so much, and learned so much through raising my children. They have always been my number 1! I was a stay at home mom most of their lives, working at the school as a substitute teacher here and there, but my main job was always class mom, team mom in all sports, PTO president, basketball coach, dance coach, cheer coach, cook, driver, maid, bank, MOM!!!…. and volunteering for every event that involved them. So when I went to work full time and moved out of our family home it was like a bomb hit my family. My husband and I had never ever raised our voices, cursed, argued, or had any negative reaction towards each other through our marriage. We smiled and gave the kids what they needed. So the kids saw us as a dream couple, and they set goals to have a relationship just like us one day. I later realized giving them that perfect picture of a life might not have been the right road to take. But this thought, and many others, is what leads me to this blog. So I look forward to future blogs, and learning how to navigate some of these obstacles life can throw our way through sharing some of my past experiences, and some of the knowledge I learn along the way. No one is perfect…. not even moms! Hit like and subscribe for some of my adventures as a mom will begin to unfold in a few days!
